This blog is the online extension of our intermediate classrooms. Our goal is to enhance and document our learning experience throughout the school year, and share this journey with teachers, parents and students. We welcome your constructive feedback, and we look forward to learning with you!
Grade 7/8 POTW 55% joined aerobics 68.75% joined math and aerobics 40% joined aerobics and environmental To solve this, you just find the other half. 55% joined aerobics 100 - 55 = 45 45% joined running 500 x 0.55 = 275 500 x 0.45 = 225 68.75% in math joined aerobics 100 - 68.75 = 31.25 31.25% in math joined running 40% in aerobics joined environmental 100 - 40 = 60 60% in aerobics joined math Let's just review so far information (plus a bit more calcultions) 225 people in running 275 people in aerobics 165 people in aerobics and math 110 people in aerobics and environmental 75 people in running and math 225 - 75 = 150 150 students joined the running club and environment club.
POTW: - 500 students - aerobics or running - 55%= aerobics - 68 3/4% = math and aerobics - 40%= aerobics were in environment club. - find the number of students who siged up for the environment club and running club.
55% for aerobics means 45% for running. If 55% of students are in aerobics, that means that the remaining 45% would have joined running class. 500 x 0.55=275 500 x 0.45=225 To find the number of students per class, the percentage must be converted into a decimal and multiplied with the number of students. aerobics: 275 running: 225 68 3/4% joined math and aerobics 31 1/4% joined math and running Same thing here. If 68 3/4% joined math and aerobics, then the remaining 31 1/4% joined math and running. 40% in aerobics and environment club. 60% in aerobics and environment club. And here. If 40% joined aerobics and environment club, the remaining 60% joined aerobics and environment. If we multiply all the percentages to the total number of students, we get: 275 in aerobics 225 in running 165 in aerobics and math 110 in aerobics and environment 75 in running and math If we subtract the total number of students in running and the number in running and math, we get 150. :D
Catch Up (I completed this a while ago but forgot to submit an answer, whoops) A total of 150 students joined the environment club and the running class.
150 students are in the running club and the environment club. Work is done on paper.
ReplyDeleteGrade 7/8 POTW
ReplyDelete55% joined aerobics
68.75% joined math and aerobics
40% joined aerobics and environmental
To solve this, you just find the other half.
55% joined aerobics
100 - 55 = 45
45% joined running
500 x 0.55 = 275
500 x 0.45 = 225
68.75% in math joined aerobics
100 - 68.75 = 31.25
31.25% in math joined running
40% in aerobics joined environmental
100 - 40 = 60
60% in aerobics joined math
Let's just review so far information (plus a bit more calcultions)
225 people in running
275 people in aerobics
165 people in aerobics and math
110 people in aerobics and environmental
75 people in running and math
225 - 75 = 150
150 students joined the running club and environment club.
POTW:
ReplyDelete- 500 students
- aerobics or running
- 55%= aerobics
- 68 3/4% = math and aerobics
- 40%= aerobics were in environment club.
- find the number of students who siged up for the environment club and running club.
55% for aerobics means 45% for running. If 55% of students are in aerobics, that means that the remaining 45% would have joined running class.
500 x 0.55=275
500 x 0.45=225
To find the number of students per class, the percentage must be converted into a decimal and multiplied with the number of students.
aerobics: 275
running: 225
68 3/4% joined math and aerobics
31 1/4% joined math and running
Same thing here. If 68 3/4% joined math and aerobics, then the remaining 31 1/4% joined math and running.
40% in aerobics and environment club.
60% in aerobics and environment club.
And here. If 40% joined aerobics and environment club, the remaining 60% joined aerobics and environment.
If we multiply all the percentages to the total number of students, we get:
275 in aerobics
225 in running
165 in aerobics and math
110 in aerobics and environment
75 in running and math
If we subtract the total number of students in running and the number in running and math, we get 150.
