Remember to allow and encourage all group members to "have their say", and that differing opinions doesn't necessarily mean wrong opinions.
This blog is the online extension of our intermediate classrooms. Our goal is to enhance and document our learning experience throughout the school year, and share this journey with teachers, parents and students. We welcome your constructive feedback, and we look forward to learning with you!

Friday Activity - Stranded!
Great job today again everyone on another effective and successful Friday Intermediate community-building activity. Today's challenge was to think critically about which 4 items your team felt would be most important /necessary if stranded on a (somewhat) deserted island. We saw a variety of different selections, from matchboxes to tarps, and from mirrors to books on edible plants. The best dialogue though, came from the creative and elaborate justifications that groups shared regarding each of their four selections. It is always fun and engaging to "think outside the box"!

I was encouraged to see everyone in my class treating each other with respect and debating what to bring to the deserted island. Keep collaborating and learning from each other. Everyone comes with interesting ideas and experiences that are different.
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteIt was very interesting to listen to other groups choices and explanations, It helps me think differently on using the tools for different reasons.
